Columbia River Gorge Engagement Session

Columbia River Gorge Engagement Photo Shoot

Ok, to be honest, Emily and Eric aren’t ACTUALLY engaged yet. But they’re both good friends of mine who were excited to jump front of the camera for me. I met them both in Sacramento at a local partner dance night several years ago before they moved up to Portland in 2018. Thanks to covid (not actually thanks though), we all haven’t had the opportunity to get together and dance in months. At the end of the shoot I made sure to clip on a speaker and capture some photos of them dancing in the open field.

One of the reasons I reached out to Emily and Eric is that I had been dying to do an engagement photo shoot at Government Cove in the Columbia River Gorge. This location is a fan favorite amongst Portland wedding photographers. When I got there, I understood why. After a short hike from the main gate you’re presented with a 360 degree views of the gorge. The small peninsula has tall cliffs, open plains and wildflowers in the early summer. Seriously, it’s the ultimate playground for photographers. Whether you’re planning your engagement shoot, or you’re just taking a day trip to sightsee, I highly recommend visiting Government Cove.
